The Cincinnati Bengals are considering using the franchise tag on defensive end Trey Hendrickson, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero and Mike Garafolo.

Garafolo added that a tag-and-trade scenario remains possible.

The trio also reported Feb. 8 that the Bengals won't be entertaining trade offers for quarterback Joe Burrow and will spend this offseason to improve the roster.

Hendrickson was among 2025 Bengals becoming unrestricted free agents when the season ended.

After Hendrickson agreed in August to a revised deal for the 2025 season that included a $14-million raise, the 2024 NFL sacks leader played in just seven games and recorded four sacks.

Hendrickson aggravated a hip injury on a late block from behind by Jets offensive lineman John Simpson during the team's Week 8 loss and missed the rest of the season.
