Bemidji stacks up against section foes at Section 8AA True Team

Oct. 11—BRAINERD — The Bemidji High School girls swimming and diving team got a preview of what sections will look like at the Section 8AA True Team meet in Brainerd on Saturday.

The Lumberjacks took eighth place with a team score of 697. Brainerd won the meet with a score of 1,361.

Anna Friedt, Finley Zothman, Kiera Strodtman and Abby Daman took fifth place in the 200-yard medley relay at 1:57.91. Zothman also took second place in the 100 freestyle (54.43). Friedt took eighth in the 100-yard backstroke (1:09.16), while Daman took fourth place in the 50 free (25.96).

Elle Wille finished in fifth in the 200 free with a time of 2:05.95, then took third in the 500 free at 5:42.27. Kiera Strodtman finished in third place in the 200-yard medley relay at 2:23.25. Quinn Friedt took 10th in the 100-yard butterfly at 1:07.62.

Zothman, Daman, Strodtman and Quinn Friedt finished in second place in the 200 free relay at 1:41.80. Zothman, Daman, Strodtman and Emily Haack took third in the 400-yard freestyle relay to cap off the swimming events on Saturday.

BHS had four divers compete as well. Ridley Hadrava scored a 308.25, while Kylie Sonneman (179.30), Samantha Buxton (161.05) and Isabella Reirson (150.40) followed behind.

1-Brainerd 1,361; 2-Elk River 1,183; 3-Buffalo 1,066.5; 4-Moorhead 1,006; 5-Rogers 918; 6-St. Michael-Alberville 839; 7-Alexandria 808.5; 8-Bemidji 679.
