Nathan Lowe is hoping to stay injury-free for the remainder of the season after marking his delayed debut for Wycombe Wanderers with a goal.

The Chairboys signed Lowe on loan from Stoke City last month for the rest of the season despite a leg injury which ended his previous spell at Stockport County.

The 20-year-old finally made it onto the pitch as a substitute on Saturday and took just five minutes to find the net as Wycombe beat Stevenage 3-1 - a result which left them just five points away from the League One play-off places.

"I try to picture scoring goals before I go to bed, which is a bit sad really, but it helps, I think, visualising different scenarios on the pitch and making sure I was ready to take my chance," Lowe told BBC Three Counties Radio.

"I was supposed to be (out for) maybe 12 weeks, and it's [been] more like eight so all the people that have helped me get on the pitch a lot sooner, I can only thank them for that."

Lowe had a prolific scoring spell during a half-season loan with Walsall in 2024-25 and found the net nine times in 26 games for Stockport in the first half of this campaign.

Wycombe hope he can help propel them to another top-six finish, having been beaten in last season's play-offs by Charlton Athletic.

"Hopefully I can play a lot of minutes in the back-end of the season - I thought I was going to be injured until mid to late March so anything other than that is a free hit for me," Lowe said.

"I can go out there and play with absolute freedom, because I wasn't expecting it - I'm just grateful to be out on the pitch and (be able to) put a smile on people's faces."

Wycombe are at home to relegation-threatened Burton Albion in their next game on Saturday.
