The NFL offseason is officially underway as the biggest domino has fallen with superstar pass rusher Maxx Crosby being traded after a week of rumors and speculation.
The Las Vegas Raiders have finalized a deal to send Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for two first-round picks, ending any hopes that the Chicago Bears would land Crosby in a potential deal.
Chicago is likely to pivot their focus on the free agency market as they look to upgrade their pass rush opposite of veteran Montez Sweat, and there are some good options available. That includes Trey Hendrickson and Cam Jordan, who both have a history with Bears defensive coordinator Dennis Allen.
General manager Ryan Poles made one move earlier on Friday, trading a 2027 fifth-round pick to the New England Patriots for center Garrett Bradbury, filling one hole on their roster. Now, edge rusher remains a need with free agency just around the corner.

I understand why the #Bears didn’t offer two 1s.

Maxx Crosby would have been perfect in Chicago.
But after seeing the deal with Baltimore, the #Bears would have needed to give up a 2026 1st-rounder, 2027 1st-rounder, and a good bit more to beat the offer.
Still need edge help. But they have money + picks to do it.

I'm glad the Bears didn't give up 2 first round picks for Maxx Crosby.
He's a great player but I'd rather keep the picks. Build through the draft.
You can target Trey Hendrickson or even Khalil Mack in free agency.
This route always always made more sense to me.

Damn. I wouldn’t have traded two first-round picks for Maxx Crosby if I were the #Bears, so I don’t blame them.
That’s fine. Plenty of good free agent edge rushers available. https://t.co/vx9HcBCU8h

Soooo……..Trey Hendrickson or Khalil Mack for the Chicago Bears now?? pic.twitter.com/LC4H2NpSbY

At least he stays in the AFC. And the Raiders got the multiple first-round picks they wanted.
Bears weren't going to beat that offer. https://t.co/QTbj285Exp
