The Chicago Bears are releasing linebacker Tremaine Edmunds, as first reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter.

With Edmunds gone, the Bears have freed up $15 million in salary cap space with $2.437 million in dead money.

With Edmunds gone, the Bears have a starting linebacker job to fill alongside T.J. Edwards, who is recovering from a fractured fibula suffered during a wild-card playoff win back in January. There are options on the roster, including Ruben Hyppolite II and Noah Sewell, who's also returning from injury. But Chicago could also look to free agency or the 2026 NFL Draft to fill the hole.

More to come.
