There's been plenty of rumors and speculation involving the Chicago Bears and Las Vegas Raiders pass rusher Maxx Crosby, who's on the trade block and could be dealt before free agency next week.

While ESPN's Adam Schefter said "he'd be surprised" if the Bears landed Crosby, reports continue to surface that Chicago remains interested in acquiring the five-time Pro Bowler to improve their pass rush alongside Montez Sweat.

According to CBS Sports' Jonathan Jones, the Bears are one of three teams who are "keeping close tabs" on Crosby's availability. The Dallas Cowboys and Baltimore Ravens are the others. But Jones notes that a trade is not imminent right now, which means this could last beyond the start of free agency.

The Raiders reportedly are seeking a trade package similar to what the Cowboys got for Micah Parsons, including two first-round picks. And there was a report that some believed the Bears were the team that offered those two first rounders.

Following recent roster moves, including the trade of wide receiver DJ Moore, center Drew Dalman's shocking retirement and linebacker Tremaine Edmunds' release, Chicago is positioning themselves to make a splash in free agency.

The Bears are reportedly honing in on Baltimore Ravens center Tyler Linderbaum in free agency to replace Dalman, and there are a slew of other needs including defensive line, left tackle, safety and linebacker. That might prohibit Chicago from making a move for Crosby if the cost is two first-round picks.
