The Los Angeles Rams could be heading toward a big offseason.

With around $42 million in salary cap space, the Rams have the ability to shore up positions of need in free agency, the draft or with trades for veterans on expensive contracts. One of those trades could be for Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby, who has reportedly been disgruntled with the team — although no trade request has officially been made.

While there has only been speculation that the Rams would be interested in trading for Crosby, Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer offered the first signs that L.A. is a team that could acquire the veteran. Per Breer, the Rams are among the seven teams "keeping tabs on his availability." The other clubs are the Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Bears, Baltimore Ravens, Buffalo Bills, New England Patriots and Philadelphia Eagles.

Rams Wire has explored the pros and cons of a Crosby trade, but the key things to note are: his production (69.6 career sacks and 164 total quarterback hits), his age (29), the cost to acquire him (likely at least two first-round picks) and his current cap hit ($30.78 million in 2026, per Spotrac).

Do those benefits outweigh the potential drawbacks of a deal? That's for general manager Les Snead and head coach Sean McVay to decide.
