FORT WORTH, Texas (FOX 44) — Baylor women’s basketball dug itself an early hole Sunday and never fully recovered, falling 65-53 on the road to TCU. For the second straight season, the Bears leave Fort Worth empty-handed in their quest for a Big 12 championship, falling short of a share of the regular-season title.
No. 18 Baylor struggled from the start, shooting just 24% in the first half and trailing 26-15 at the break after opening 6-for-25 from the floor. That slow start gave TCU room to breathe, and ultimately proved too much for the Bears to overcome.
Taliah Scott led Baylor with 17 points and four assists, scoring 13 in the final period as the Bears made one last push. Marcayla Johnson added 11 points off the bench, while Darianna Littlepage-Buggs contributed seven points and a team-high eight rebounds.
Despite the setback, Baylor has secured the No. 3 seed in the Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City and will face the winner of Kansas/UCF and Colorado on Friday night.
