While we may want Breeland, the team did their work. They brought him in. Sounds like they maybe weren't confident he had healed, or that he'd fit the system.

A lot of wailing and gnashing of teeth for a guy who couldn't pass a physical to get signed in the first place.

But for how much $$? They're more likely looking at a figure closer to 6m yr. then 8m yr. With 10m guaranteed? Bonus could be a snag too. We'll see, he's running out of options, he'll have to decide.

I would guess Breeland is still hoping to get what the Panthers offered, or really close to it. Three years, 24 Million, 11 Guaranteed.

But that for a guy with an already worrisome injury history.......... and now a failed physical due to some rare fungus infection?


The market had definitely changed for Breeland. The teams are already telling us that. The market has changed: too much injury risk, for that much dough. He will be forced to come around to reality.

There is not a more perfect opportunity that I can see, for him to turn his career around, than right here in Arizona. The 2nd CB starter position is like a 10 lb Grapefruit just hanging there, if someone can grab it, they will get PAID.

I don’t get it. Waste money on guys like smith and Pugh but don’t spend money of one of our top 3 needs. If we can’t find a second corner this team will get crushed in division.

I think it is clear that he is trying to get at least two teams into a bidding war to at least get a contract like the one he signed back in march. It's a game of chicken right now.

When you're trying to play a sport as a professional athlete, yes, it is. It's literally what ended my friend's NFL career. If your foot has lost strength or you're playing with pain in it, especially at a position predicated on speed, it's a huge red flag.

When you're trying to play a sport as a professional athlete, yes, it is. It's literally what ended my friend's NFL career. If your foot has lost strength or you're playing with pain in it, especially at a position predicated on speed, it's a huge red flag.

Especially if it's a bone infection for what appears to have been a foot which was not really stable if that injury has lasted to this point to be prompted to reoccur to that degree... yup, speed and especially the change of direction when the CB is the one that has to react

If Breeland is healthy, I think that could be a very good signing. In a dream world I would hope they could acquire both Breeland and Tre Boston, and make the secondary a strength, at least on paper.
