TCU baseball scored runs in five straight innings and secured its fifth consecutive win on Tuesday, beating Lamar 8-6 in a nonconference midweek matchup at Lupton Stadium. The Horned Frogs (18-10, 5-4 Big 12) overcame a 5-0 deficit after two innings, scoring two runs in the fourth and three runs in the fifth to surge back. TCU will hit the road and play a three-game Big 12 Conference series against Kansas State in Manhattan starting Friday night.

Chase Brunson’s two-run triple in the fifth inning sparked a three-run frame that gave the Horned Frogs a 6-5 lead. Sawyer Strosnider added an RBI single in the sixth and Lucas Franco pitched in an RBI single during the seventh to aid the TCU offense, which posted 11 hits and drew nine walks on Tuesday. Cole Cramer, Noah Franco and Brady Dallimore each collected two hits, while Strosnider drew three walks and reached base four times.

Seven pitchers contributed to the victory. Noah Franco started on the mound and struck out two over a scoreless first, while Nolan Johnson pitched three innings and struck out three. Johnson overcame three walks to hold Lamar to one unearned run. Kade Durnin, Nate Stern and Walter Quinn combined to fire the final two innings for the Horned Frogs. Stern earned the save.
