Barcelona come up with plan for Hamza Abdelkarim ahead of 2026-27 season

Barcelona have reportedly already come up with a plan for striker Hamza Abdelkarim ahead of the 2026-27 season.

The Egypt striker is expected to sign for the club permanently after catching the eye following his arrival on loan in the winter.

Abdelkarim will have further chances to impress in the summer, as he’s been called up to the Egypt squad for World Cup 2026.

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has already admitted that the youngster “could be an option” for next season and that he’s been keeping an eye on him.

According to Diario Sport, Abdelkarim could join up with the first team for pre-season (depending on his involvement at the World Cup and subsequently holidays) but will then link up with Barca Atletic.

The Catalans want him to play a key role for Juliano Belletti’s side next season, and the current plan is for him to play up front with highly-rated attacker Oscar Gistau.

That does not mean that Abdelkarim will not get any first-team chances.

Flick has shown throughout his time at Barca that he’s willing to offer opportunities, and if Abdelkarim shines for Barca Atletic it could open the door to a first-team debut.
