that's a pretty solid hold, but I expected a little better during the holiday season (see the holds for everything else - Zoo2 went up 19%, Housemaid down just 12%) and it's just nowhere near what the first two movies did when Avatar 1 dropped only like 2% in weekend 3 and 2 went up 3% in weekend 3.
Still think it tops out at 400-450 million domestic and probably between 1.5-1.7 billion bucks which will make it profitable and if it reaches the higher end, it'll give Avatar 3 of the top 10 worldwide grossers ever.
But it's also looking like significant diminishing returns the longer the series gets stretched, and with the budgets likely staying at the same levels, profitability's gonna get thin fast (like next movie fast) if each flick is looking at losing a 1/3 of it's worldwide audience with every film.
