After two dominant wins to open up their 2026 NBA Summer League campaign, the Golden State Warriors faced the Miami Heat Monday. Having faced the San Antonio Spurs Sunday evening, the Warriors decided to rest four main contributors: Yaxel Lendeborg, LJ Cryer, Malevy Leons and Will Richard.

This opened up the door for new players to receive an opportunity, and the three Warriors who led the way were familiar faces. After a solid performance against San Antonio, which included 12 points off the bench, Deivon Smith entered the starting lineup and tallied 16 points, nine rebounds, five assists and one steal. Chance McMillian also had another solid game, following up 12 points against the Spurs with 14 against Miami.

But once again, there was no stronger performer on Golden State's roster than Lachlan Olbrich, who was nothing short of dominant off the bench, scoring 21 points on a perfect 7-for-7 shooting to go along with six rebounds, one assist and one steal. Olbrich has impressed in all three summer league appearances thus far, averaging 13.3 points, five rebounds and three assists off the bench after finishing the 2025-26 NBA season with the Chicago Bulls. If he can keep this performance up, he may be able to earn a standard contract either with Golden State or elsewhere.

Now 2-1 to begin the summer, Golden State will return to action July 9 against the Dallas Mavericks.
