Atletico Madrid vs Real Sociedad– Predicted lineup/team news

Atletico Madrid will take on Real Sociedad in the Copa del Rey final on Saturday night, with both sides aiming to lift the trophy.

Atletico booked their place in the final after edging past Barcelona 4-3 on aggregate in the semi-finals, while Real Sociedad secured their spot with a 2-0 aggregate win over Athletic Bilbao.

Diego Simeone’s side heads into the final in inconsistent form, losing five of their last six matches in all competitions. Their latest result was a 2-1 defeat to Barcelona in the Champions League, although they still progressed to the semi-finals overall.

They also suffered a 2-1 loss to Sevilla in La Liga last weekend. Despite these struggles, Atletico have been strong in the Copa del Rey, winning four of their last five matches in the competition.

Atletico Madrid team news

Diego Simeone faces several challenges ahead of the final. Pablo Barrios is ruled out with a thigh injury, while both Jose Gimenez and David Hancko are doubts, with Hancko unlikely to start after only training individually.

Juan Musso is expected to continue as the cup goalkeeper ahead of Jan Oblak. In defence, Robin Le Normand is likely to lead a reshuffled backline alongside Marc Pubill.

Going forward, Atletico will rely on Antoine Griezmann and Julian Alvarez to provide the goals as they look to overcome their defensive concerns and a demanding schedule.
