Relax, even though the Cards have started 0-3 and their QB likely is going to be out for awhile they are playing the 49er's at home where they were 5-3 last year. Oh wait a minute, the Cards aren't at home they gave their home game away and are playing in Mexico City. Oh well, it's going to be 0-4.

The Cards will probably beat the 49ers twice this season for the Cardinals only wins of the year.

That game would have arrived just in time to either completely destroy our season or more likely at least let us get a breath of fresh air.

But no.

The stupidity of ownership truly knows no bounds.

Blame the players, coaches, Gm, waterboy, whatever. To blame the Owners for a business decision that was meant to boost their exposure it silly. What is so hard to understand about this?

It was meant to boost the $$$ not exposure. The Cardinals can't get people in AZ to go to a game, how in the heck are they going to get people from Mexico to attend.

Also, I think that the Cardinals have been exposed enough. The people in Mexico don't want to see the Cardinals, that's why the stadium will only be half filled. Again, the Cards are in Mexico because no other team in the NFL was willing to give up a home game. What part of that don't you understrand?

Exposure= money

I guarantee the stadium will be more than half filled.

Do you think that the NFL wanted to send the Cardinals to Mexico? It was their only choice, no other team in the NFL was willing to give up a home game. Last I heard there were only 35,000 tickets sold for this game. I'm sure that the NFL will be giving away alot of freebies to fill up the stadium.

What other team should it have been? The cards are what 4 hours away from Mexico?

I understand you are upset. I get that, but let's not lose sight of reality. The reality is... it has little to do with actually gaining fans in Mexico.. it has more to do with Exposure to the masses if the form of a nationally televised game. The only game in town sorta speak. So had the team been competitive... the focus would have been on that along with the new unis, new stadium new mindset. It was a gamble that this franchise had to take.

The logical choice would have been the Cowboys not the Cardinals. Why do you think they are having such a hard time selling tickets? The Cardinals are not marketable. If the Cowboys (and I hate the Cryboys) were in the game it would be a sellout but one small problem, the Cowboys were not willing to give up a home game.

Big deal. Are the Cardinals missing anything by playing in Mexico? How many fans do you think would be at SDS this Sunday? Maybe 25,000 with half of them being 49er fans? Wow, some home field advantage.

And can you stop with the 35,000 Mexico fans posts. There will be over 100,000 people at that game.

Why can't fans blame the owners, Clif? They took away a home game. They took away an experience for the fans. They said, "Thank you for coming out to support us through thin and thin. For your loyalty, we're going to play a 'home game' in Mexico City! Isn't that exciting? It'll be great. We'll have mariachis, and margaritas and nachos. Yea! ...what's that? No, no. No, we won't be playing that game in Arizona a couple of minutes from your home. No, you won't be able to drive over that morining with your family, grill up some food and drink some beer with other Cardinal faithful. No, you won't be able to sit in the stands and cheer us on and have a really great time win or lose. No, you won't be able to yell yourself horse with all the other fans. ...but you can sit on your couch and watch it on your tv screen. That'll be just as fun. Adios!"

The organization isn't making any fans in Arizona with this game, that's for sure. IMO, it's "exposure" that negatively affects the audience that matter most to the organization--it's existing fans. How is a game played in Mexico going to get more butts in the seats at SDS?

Excellent post, Pariah.

Sad thing is - they really don't care about how the fans feel. They really don't.

Fans can blame the ownership all they want, but IMO it is a waste of time. The Cards made a decision that to most people is a good decision.

Most people complain about the heat in September and early October so what do they do? They eliminate that problem and give themselves a chance to showcase their product.

So who did they really piss off? 10,000 ... 15,000? How many season ticket holders were actually going to show up this week?

That's half the Cardinals fans that usually attend games. Relatively speaking, that's a lot.

Pisses me off and I'm not even in AZ.

Plus, instead of saying to the fans--"hey, we really appreciate your loyalty and we're going to reward that loyalty because we know it hasn't been easy," They take away perks from the fans.

"perks"--forget perks. They take away the bread and butter of what they have to offer the fans.

bad move.

I understand people being upset, but I really think you guys are missing the big picture. Not enough people come to the games in Sept or October to justify NOT doing this.

Don't get me wrong I would have loved a home game, but the good outweighs the bad IMO.

Yeah, screw the fans(the few that you have)! It's all about the business.

Ridiculous.

San Diego is closer.

Its not like the Cards are 4 hours away from where the game is played. Heck Miami is just a couple of hundred miles from Cuba lets send the Dolphins there for a game.

Total rubbish.

Exposure.

More people seeing your product. Now granted this would have been better had the team been competitive but if more people see your team, new stadium, new unis.. that might turn into more merchandise sales.

Your fans not sitting through another steaming hot ass Sunday in Sun Devil Stadium

Bigger gate 104,000 fans compared to 35,000....

I would think that the NFL had to kick in a few bucks.

I would think that one less game at SDS meant less they had to pay ASU.
