Sam Leavitt is expected to miss the game due to injury. Jeff Sims is likely the starter.

I know they are still trying to win and I assume they think Sims gives the best chance of accomplishing that but I’m curious if Christian Hunt might not be as good an option.

Iowa St is reeling a bit and they are beatable but boy oh boy, Sims just isn’t very good

Prince Dorbah is getting reps in practice, so hopefully this is a good sign.

Freshman Cam Dyer will be the backup for Jeff Sims at quarterback.

This could be a multi-week thing with Sam Leavitt. He could miss additional time.

Wow. Both to Dyer being back already and him being the backup to Sims.

It's about time ASU goes back to Sparky.

A looming question is whether Sam Leavitt enters the NFL draft with the upcoming surgery.

He is eligible, but the injury could complicate things.

I’m getting the sense this years crop of draft eligible QBs is not as deep as everyone thought going into the season??

That seems to be the opinion of many, but I like what I have seen. If Leavitt entered the draft and he was available later, the Cardinals should definitely consider him.

If it really isn’t very deep, then Leavitt should enter the draft. Strike while the iron is lukewarm. He has a disappointing season but NFL tabs draft on potential so he might get rewarded.

They really should allow players to get drafted and if they don’t like where they are drafted they can return to school

I’m typically of this mindset. But I honestly believe Leavitt should come back. I don’t think he showed enough this year for a team to confidently draft him in the top two rounds. Yes, a lot of the vaunted QB class has underperformed this season as well, but that pushes them all down. If I recall correctly Sam was down the list to begin the season. A likely late first-to-midsecond guy. The drop for almost all of them likely pushes him third round now. Teams seeking potential will take the toolsy guys like allar over the moxey scrambler like Leavitt.
