The Sun Devils will be without Xavion Alford and Jalen Moss for the Baylor game.

The season is over and quite likely Leavitt has played his last game here. I also question whether Dillingham will be back after one of the big programs throws a bucket of money at him this offseason.

He's probably headed towards a slide soon so career wise, it's probably advisable that he take any big money deals on the table after the year ends. I think he'll end up being another Norvell/Napier in four more years wherever he goes, but you couldn't fault him for striking while the iron is hot.

Meanwhile, ASU football can get back to floundering under the arrogant POS president that has effectively destroyed all of its major sports.

It sucks for Leavitt. Maybe because of this injury, he will come back next year.

As for Dillingham, I cannot see him leaving ASU unless it's for a NFL job. Who knows, maybe he could be a future coach for the Cardinals?

I really think people underestimate how much Kenny wants to remain at ASU. The dream job he has always wanted. Living with his wife and kids where he grew up and making millions to do so. He isn't tempted by other schools in far off cities with their fanbases. He is the ultimate Sun Devil. I just wish he had recruited a better backup QB. We should have had a young hungry QB waiting in the wings in case something went wrong with Sam.

What a devastating bunch of injuries for a team that was supposed to be establishing a legacy. This just bites. Every single time ASU looks like they are going to build on what came before they flop on their faces for one reason or another. They just have not been able to establish any kind of sustained success.

That's quaint. And who knows, maybe he is that much of a sap. But him turning down a major deal from the SEC or Big10 isn't likely. Not in this day and age when players are total mercenaries.

I will put myself firmly in the minority, but I am not sure losing Dillingham would be all that disastrous. I think he caught lightning in a bottle last year and his performance this year is underwhelming. Sure, he's young and learning, blah, blah, blah. But I, personally am far from certain he will be a great coach in the long run.

And,.no, I don't know who ASU would get who is better and would actually stay here long term. I hope Dillingham proves me wrong.

Wow, the proverbial wheels really fell off this season. ASU was lucky to be healthy last season, as there wasn't a lot of depth then either.

I know that teams can be restocked quickly in the portal (see Houston and Texas Tech, for example), but I'm skeptical that Leavitt will come back when he can get a bag elsewhere and not have to deal with what looks like a rebuild next year. I know that some fans will say that Leavitt loves it in Tempe, but I think that's a bit of a naive view in this day and age. He needs to think about his wallet and NFL draft position. I hope I'm completely wrong on ASU's 2025-26 prospects.

You have zero actual insight into this. You and I have gone a few rounds on this one. I think this is an incredibly naive thought. It has nothing to do with “far off cities and their fan bases” (lol). It has everything to do with $$$. And I don’t just mean his contract - which would be astronomically larger - we are talking NIL. The lifeblood of collegiate programs today. It’s what allows programs to compete year in and year out with little drop off in talent. Unlike the ASU’s of the world where the coach has to scramble to identify talent and take the table scraps from the big programs. Thus far dilly found lightning in a bottle three times in the transfer portal (skat, Leavitt, and Tyson). Do you know how difficult that is? It’s likely not repeatable. And it places the entire program in precarious position when one leaves (draft) or gets injured. The big programs just reload. And they do it in numbers. And they do it from base recruiting AND typically getting first crack at the top talent in the portal.

The sad reality is, dilly would be an idiot to stay here if a big program came calling. And that’s why he would leave. Logic would overtake sentimentality.

I hadn’t even thought of the prospect of Leavitt leaving. I had last offseason. I thought he was a prime target then. I’m unsure he would leave now. Seems less likely when you’ve experienced success with a staff two years running. But as I said before, $$$ and business decisions are more prevalent today than ever before.

If Miami or LSU comes for him he's gone. IMO. Maybe there are some other programs as well, but those two come to my mind first.

Some estimated return dates (games) for key Sun Devil players.

Kyson Brown is reported to be likely out for the season.
