I'm so sorry --

I should have asked the questions people had posted yesterday, but was unable to go to practice.

I will go next week - and get some answers.

Here's my current list. Please feel free to add, change, or delete -- BUT remember it hinges on luck. I may not see Kasper, or might have a long talk with McDaniel. There's no way to predict.

1) Pace: Reaction when Cards took him in draft? Surprise, or with the run on DL's, was he sort of expecting something.

2) Reggie Wells: How is he in making hte tranxition from Clarion to the NFL?

3) What's the typical morning like for a player before a game, and how (if at all) does this differ on the road compared to when we're at home?

4) Emmanuel McDaniel: (1) how shocked are you to be a Cardinal? (2) Is this where you thought you would play - or somewhere else? (3) What do you think of the heat?

5) Shipp: What have you done this offseason to improve your game? What were your weaknesses coming out of last year, and how did you try to fix them? After (this fan) spoke to you at a draft party, you said your expectations were 1000 yards rusing -- do you think between you and Mr. Smith we might have a 1600 to 1800 yard season?

6) How do you (players) feel about all the empty seats? Has it had an adverse effect, or been motivating? New Players -- how do you feel about playing with so few fans after your previous stadium? And what about the numerous fans in 'our house' cheering for the other team?

7) Kasper: Do you feel the coaches were tougher on you than the other receivers? How does this squad of receivers compare with all the previous squads you've been a part of?:)

You can add....
Emmitt...what did it feel like to get a huge win over the Lions to start the 2003 season?

I hope we can ask that anyway

Hey Jo, You can take that third question off. I was just joking.

I got one. It seemed we attacked on the defensive side of the
ball more in the preseason. With our lack of pass rush, why
did we play a more conservative defense against the Lions?
We need to role the dice a little more.

Bright Eyes (and Nidan too), I love you guys for doing this and bringing it to us fans, but (Nidan) has repeatedly ignored it when I asked what happened to/why he ignored his first 'General Questions' post. I'll provide the link yet AGAIN.

http://arizonasportsfans.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14926&highlight=General+Questions

I mean, the thread died, and then this thread came up:

http://arizonasportsfans.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=15370&highlight=General+Questions

On said thread, I kept asking, repeatedly, why the other thread was dropped. It's now as if the first thread doesn't exist. Why???

Here, I'll cut and paste my question (WHICH IS THE FIRST QUESTION, I MIGHT ADD!) from that thread so that the question will be answered...

My question is for Bryant Johnson.

Personally, having lived in State College (or rather, University Park), and having visited Tempe, I could feel the difference in the summertime heat.

'Question: How different is it playing/practicing in the searing, dry heat of Arizona as compared to the hot, muggy heat of Central PA?

Feel free to rephrase the question as needed.'

Like I said, I love that you guys are doing this, but I do not appreciate being ignored. When you start a thread for it, use it, don't ignore it, and all confusion shall be eliminated

:)

I think Jo posted this thread without realizing that I had another thread.

Also both of us had insanely busy weeks last.

It's cool, ese

Like I said, must have just been confusion. I got the question on the new list now, so all is groovy.

Answers obtained 9/11/03

We were only able to get a few, but here they are:

Reggie Wells: How is he in making the transition from Clarion to the NFL?

Like going to work – we’re here from 7:30 to 4 or 4:30 so, kinda feels like I got a job already out of school, which I do -- for a little while at least. Yeah. I’m sure everyone makes transitions graduating from college. Ours is just a little bit different from everyone else’s.

Like everyone else doing their job, I’m gonna try and keep working and get better to the best of my ability.

Emmanuel McDaniel: (1) how shocked are you to be a Cardinal? (2) Is this where you thought you would play - or somewhere else?

No, not shocked.

Anytime you get released, and can still play, you hope to get picked up. You just go out in preseason and do the best you can … good things happen.

(How do you feel now?) Very good. Part of a new team. Try and help get some wins around here, that’s all.

(You ready for the Seattle Receivers?) It’s a good test. I mean, they got some good receivers. I give them credit – they had a good game last week. But we’re gonna go out and do our job and do our best.

How do you (players) feel about all the empty seats? This seemed a real good question for the week, so we ended up talking to Ronald McKinnon, Jeff Blake -- and even Coach Mac had a few comments. See article.

That would just get Mac pissed of as he has already denied it to the "real" media.

While Jo was interviewing Reggie, his buddies where walking past giving him grief, big time.

Lines like "You've made the big time now, being interviewed by the media". It seems that he doesn't get asked to talk into a tape recorder very often.

Jo looks around to see who there are talking about :D

Remaining Questions:

we didn't ask, because we weren't able to corner the individual. I'm sorry.

Shall I continue with these next week, or do we wipe the slate clean and ask again?

Also, the question on difference in home and away is another good question to ask multiple players, but I thought we'd only have time to do one this week, so went with the low fan turnout. We can ask this next week.

I didn't ask about the Lions defense at all, because that had been beat to death by the rest of the media.

Yep, Jo said, you just let Calvin Pace past you.

I said, yes I was to busy snagging Emmanuel McDaniel and I didn't see him. Look what happened when I gave BJ a small opening to run to the locker room, I can't imagine why he would want to get inside in the cool after a practice out in the heat.

I will get BJ next week

It more a question of who we can snag as they walk off the field.

Imagine large group of large sweaty guys, some not wearing their numbered jerseys anymore. They all want to get into the A/C ASAP.

Some are easy like Ronnie Mac, some are more elusive.

Redstorm, this thread is for questions, not a forum for stupid comments. If you want to vent at me or anybody else do it on a different thread.

If you have a sensible question that follows the guidelines I laid out, feel free to post it and I'll try to get it answered.

The one person we can almost guarentee to talk to is Mac. Instead of making stupid comments, engage your brain and try to come up with a sensible question.

For the guidelines see here.

Nidan,

I am not venting at you and I think, in light of how they played this week, the question is appropriate.

Also, if you need to delete my posts then feel free. I don't have the ability to do that (at least I can not find it).

Please don't take my comments personal I am not trying to offend you.

If you're going to be a journalist - you have to ask tough questions so here's mine to coach Mac:

For what reason were coaches like Jim Hanifan and Mean Joe Greene retained after the utter breakdowns in special teams and the lack of development of players on the Defensive Line last season - especially considering how weak both of those units have been so far in the first two games?
