Regardless of if you think it is a legitimate question or not, I'm not going to ask something like that because

a) Every reporter has will have been ragging him on the last game all week. If you want to hear a negative spin go read the Repulsive.

b) It is a ridiculous question. What answer do you expect. "Duh, hmmm, no we have decided to pack it in for the year"

c) I made you a real offer, if you can come up with a real question that meets the guidelines Jo or I will ask Mac. The only caveat is if my work schedule gets in the way. In fact this week it does but Jo should still be able to make it.

That may be a legitimate question but only if Mac agrees with your analysis, either way it would piss off Mac (altough he wouldn't show it) and regardless would get a "pat" answer.

Therefore there is not point in asking it, I am not going to "Tilt at Windmills" (re Don Quixote). ie It's not a "tough" question as phrased it is an imflamatry (as it requires an agreement with your assumption) and pointless (produces a pat answer) question.

If you want to know how we are working on improving special teams or the DL, think of a better way to phrase your question that meets the guidelines.

btw: I'm not sure I agre the DL has been weak the last couple of games.

you mean a way to kiss Dave's ass while you ask him the question? No thanks - don't ask my question - I'm sure it would get the same spin from Coach Mac that it would from you.

And it's not pointless - I would like to hear reasons why those guys were retained - besides loyalty - that is not asking too much - especially after he fired his OC who had more injuries than anyone could even fathom. It's a honest and fair question - sorry it doesn't hold up to your standards of not rocking the boat - but that's what journalists do - they ask questions - and to me it's incomprehendisble that those two guys are still around.

Lighten up Cheese, you want me to go toe to toe and be insulting to a guy who has been extremely nice to us. Unlike the Replulsive we don't get this access as a 'right" it is a priviledge.

The problem is that what you really want to do is vent at Mac (personally or via proxy) and I won't help you with that.

Conversly you could actually spend the effort to figure out how we might ask a question but I'm not going to get insulting with Mac for you. I guess it's to much effort though

If you want to trade insults thats fine as you can kiss my ass as well.

It is pointless because it requires the agreement with your basic assumption that he should have got rid of Green and Hanifan. It's also pointless because even IF Mac agreed with you, until the end of the season all he can say is that they have his full support.

So in summary as you phrased it is ponitless because it will piss off Mac to get a pat answer that we already know. Why on earth would we want to do that, what would be the point ?

What - if anything - will you be doing differently this week to change the karma and bring the team out of its funk.

(Note - Maybe the question sounds negative - but I pose it as a legitimate one - i.e. if you're running an organization that's struggling, how are you addressing the problem?

I was just copying from Cheese's post, my excuse is that I was still crossed eyed from disgust over the game oin Sunday and I was barly thinging straight.

I would say more but I'm waiting to see how my appolgy to Cheese for ripping into him goes. Then I'll know how to phrase a post I have brewing.

Why can't you be serious? They are trying to help us out by asking questions and you have to be sarcastic. Grow up.

Real journalists would never ask a question that is phrased like that. It would offend the interview subject and you would not get an answer. Plus, you would instantly lose respect from the interviewee and have a hard time regaining it.

It is all in how you pose the question.

Bad: How come you suck?

Better: Can you explain why you are 0-2?

The real questions are getting lost in the discussion.

Just post questions here, please.

Ask them if they need any interns over the summer with the broadcasting aspect of the team :D

Actually I'm wondering if the people like Graves work even harder now(if possible) with the poor start the team has had to this season.

Probably a tough one to get answered but what the hey.

Knowing what you know now what you have done differently in the past 6 months to build this team?

Not really, I think it is a reasonable question

However, I think it might be better to wait until the sense of humor level is higher, before we ask it.

Adam, are your U of A broadcasts on the 'net? If so, I'll tune in for a bit sometime.

Also, how do you restrain yourself from saying "D'OH!" during the games? :p

Questions Thought Up Under the Influence:

Questions for Any Player - Thought Up Under the Influence:

- Like does anyone like - do any voodoo things in his locker - or anything?

- What's the funniest, weirdest or coolest play-call terminology you've ever come across?

- What's the most bizarre (filthy, funniest) thing anyone has ever said to you from across the line of scrimmage?

- Are there "tricks" you play on your opponents (or vice versa) that fans and TV announcers normally are not privy to?

- Is everything you guys talk about on the sidelines (or for that matter, on the field) football-related? Or are their side conversations about family, "so and so sends his regards"etc.

- Along the same lines, has anyone on the sidelines talking on a cell phone ever used it to order a pizza?

- When do you guys practice various celebrations and end zone dances - after practice or during practice?

- What's the funniest thing someone who got dinged ever said to you?

I liked pretty much all of Jeff's questions. I love the inside scoop on stuff like that.

I'd like to know what Ron McKinnon thinks of James Darlings performances through three games, and vice versa. Do these two get along pretty well?
