Ascension Parish's state champion Little League team received a celebratory send-off as they headed to the Little League Southwest Regional Tournament.
The Louisiana team has been scheduled to play Arkansas on Aug. 6 at 1 p.m. (streaming live on ESPN+).
Ascension Parish Government shared images as family members and friends gathered at the governmental complex in Gonzales ahead of the team's trip to Waco, Texas.
"What an incredible moment for these young athletes as they begin the next chapter of an unforgettable season!" a parish government post read. "After an outstanding run to the Louisiana state championship, they now have the opportunity to represent Ascension Parish and the entire state of Louisiana on the regional stage."
