As young baseball players around the country still battle for a place in the Little League World Series, Florida's championship title now belongs to a Tallahassee-area team.
Chaires Capitola Little League won the Florida state championship on July 27 at Twin Lakes Park in Sarasota, advancing to the Southeast regional in Warner Robins, Georgia.
Here's what to know about the Little League World Series, the other teams competing so far and how to watch the games from Florida.

Tallahassee's Chaires Capitola Little League won the Florida state championship. They shut out Lake Mary, which has won the last three state titles and the Little League World Series in 2024.

Starting August 6, they will take on teams from seven other states, from Alabama to West Virginia, to see which one will represent the Southeast at the Little League World Series.
The 10 U.S. regions are Great Lakes, Metro, Mid-Atlantic, Midwest, Mountain Region, New England, Northwest, Southeast, Southwest and West.
As of July 28, regional tournaments are still determining their final representatives for the tournament.

The 2026 Little League World Series begins in earnest Aug. 19 in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
Of the 10 U.S. teams and 10 international teams who will fill out the field, the champion will be determined at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30.
