The transfer portal for NCAA softball opened on Monday, June 8, and will remain open until June 15.

The Arizona State softball team is coming off a season in which it finished 45-18, won the Big 12 tournament, and the College Station Regional. The Sun Devils squared off against Texas in a super regional and won the first game, but dropped the next two. They were just four outs from advancing to the College World Series, with a lead in the sixth inning of the second game.

Texas went on to win the national championship.

Now that the season is over, it's transfer portal time.


Here is the list of players headed out:

Outgoing transfers​


INF Takyla Davis (sophomore): Appeared in two games as a reserve but did not have a plate appearance.

P Meika Lauppe (junior): Emerged as the No. 2 pitcher behind Kenzie Brown. Went 14-4 with a 3.59 ERA in 121 innings. Allowed 152 hits, 62 earned runs and 33 walks while striking out 65. Most notable win was against Oklahoma State in the Big 12 semifinal. Was also the winner in ASU's NCAA opener against McNeese.

INF Nehanda Lewis (junior): Appeared in 26 games, with four starts. Went 1-for-14.

C-INF Avery Montani (freshman): Hit .167 (4-for-22) in 22 games, three of those starts.

C Samantha Swan (junior): One of the stars of the postseason for ASU. Swan batted .383 (69-for-180) with 21 doubles, 12 home runs, 55 RBIs and nine stolen bases. She was a first-team All-Big 12 selection.
