This loss is also on the lineup construction. Cobb really struggles against lefties. Kelly should have been batting 9th. Jace Peterson and McCarthy have sub .700 OPS against righties.

You have solo home runs happening because there just seems to be zero regard to actual performance on the field with some of these players

All the DBacks have right now against SF is hope. Hope that they can split this series because that's as good as can be expected.

Hazen and Torey have the identical "deer in the headlights" look right now. Hazen took a half a$$ approach to the trade deadline. Torey said he was interested in winning a game per series by splitting up Gallen and Kelly in the rotation and that's exactly what he's getting. Throwing Pfffffftttt out there with his 8+ ERA is the ultimate white flag for this organization. Hope Pfffffftttt surprises to the upside today.

Pfaadt is far and away our best young pitcher. He has to play.

Glad he's surprising to the upside today. Too bad the offense hasn't given him any support. Can't win many games scoring zero runs.

This gives him 3 straight starts with 3 runs allowed or less. The offense hasn't helped him in any game.
