I'm rooting for:

Mesa site along the Red Mountain Freeway (Loop 202) at Alma School Road that is under consideration. That site is about seven miles from the proposed Tempe site. It is privately owned (Johnson Stewart Materials LLC) and sits on a county island.

Coyotes President: Focus is on Loop 101 corridor in East Valley for new arena

So, this sounds like the one on the Salt River Pima Reservation, just South of the Pavilions shopping center or another nearby location.

The tribal land needs much less done to it - compared to the work site in Mesa by the 202.

Neither would require a public vote, IIRC, so they both have that going for them.

I like Mesa by the 202. It seems more central. The 101 can actually back up heading north. It seems too East, while Glendale was too West. Of course I live off the 202 so that would be easier, but I can surface street pretty fast to the 143 and then 101. Either way isn't too bad for me. I really liked Mullet. Hopefully, they don't go all crazy and build a huge stadium like Glendale. Glendale is a nice building, but compared to the Mullet, it feels almost antiseptic and distant from the action.

I'd love the 202 location. I often drive home across the reservation and the only spot I dislike is before and after the 202 right there because of all the giant work trucks coming in and out on both sides of the freeway. Would be great to clean up that area. Plus, it is literally 6 miles North of our neighborhood.

Wow! You live that far south in PHX? I am way south here in Laveen.

I'd take either the 202 or the 101 location. It's funny though that you say the 101 is too far east when the 202 location is a little further than it. Not by much. They're pretty close on the east/west front. It's only about a 5 minute drive between the locations too. So to me they're a wash.

The 101 can get backed up both north and south bound during their rush hours. My commute was on it but opposite the flow for 5 years. That's not much of a concern to me though unless we get games at odd times. Rush hour traffic is usually cleared by 6 pm and it's south bound in the evening. It won't cause much issue for people going north from the 202 for the start of the game and the road is wide open by game end.

I think he was thinking of the South Mountain 202

I'm not sure. I see the 202 crosses the 101 twice, and technically I can take the 202 two different ways to get to the 101 from my location. From my old job, I was right on the 143, I would take 202, then 101 going north to get to Scottsdale work sites. I see both casinos. So you are saying they would be by both the Casinos on the north part of the 101?

Yeah, by Talking Stick, in the Scottsdale area.

Ah, I was forgetting about the south stretch of the 202 and that it might cause confusion. The 202 site that I know of is on the north stretch of the freeway. Roughly near Mesa Riverview if you're familiar with it. The 101 location is then just a little bit north of it up near Talking Stick Casino.

In one of the radio interviews yesterday I heard them mention Chandler. So they might have another location that'll be off of the south part of the 202 too.

That is literally like 15 to 20 minutes from my house off the 202 to get to Chandler.
