In the Arizona Cardinals' 41-22 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, 20 players participated in at least one of the 79 offensive snaps.

Left tackle Paris Johnson Jr., left guard Evan Brown, center Hjalte Froholdt and quarterback Jacoby Brissett played every snap. Tight end Trey McBride played all but nine.

How was the playing time divided up? Below are individual snap counts for every player who got in the game offensively, grouped by position.

The first number after each name is snaps and the second is the percentage. Players in bold were starters.

Arizona Cardinals Week 11 offensive snap counts: Quarterbacks

  • Jacoby Brissett (79/100)
  • Did not play: Kedon Slovis
  • Reserve/injured (eligible for return): Kyler Murray

With the Cardinals in full passing mode, Brissett was in shotgun for 58 snaps and his 47 completions established an NFL regular-season record, breaking the previous mark of 45 set by Drew Bledsoe of the Patriots in 1999 and Jared Goff of the Rams in 2019. The Steelers’ Ben Roethlisberger had 47 in a playoff game in 2020.

Brissett completed 47-of-57 passes for 452 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. The completions averaged 9.6 yards. The interceptions kept his passer rating below 100 at 96.8 and the first one snapped a streak of 168 attempts without a pick.

Tight ends had 12 of the receptions on 14 targets for 126 yards, while running backs had 11 on 14 targets for 55 yards. That totaled 23 receptions on 28 targets.

Running backs

  • Michael Carter (33/42, Bam Knight (32/41), Emari Demercado (14/18)
  • Reserve/injured: Trey Benson (eligible to return), James Conner (eligible to return, but won’t)

The running backs combined for only 12 attempts and totaled 38 yards, led by Knight’s 24 on five runs. He had a 60-yard touchdown run that would have made it a one-score game in the third quarter, but it was negated by a holding penalty on tight end Pharaoh Brown. Knight had four receptions for 21 yards. Demercado had five attempts for eight yards and two catches for 12 before leaving the game with an ankle injury. Carter was 2-for-6 rushing and 5-for-22 receiving.

Wide receivers

  • Michael Wilson (65/82), Xavier Weaver (57/72), Greg Dortch (52/66), Andre Baccellia (17/22)
  • Inactive: Marvin Harrison Jr. (illness)
  • Reserve/injured: Simi Fehoko (eligible to return), Zay Jones (eligible to return, but won’t)

Wilson had a monster game with 185 yards and a long of 34 while catching 15 of his 18 targets. Dortch had six receptions on as many targets for 66 yards and a 17-yard touchdown. Baccellia had his first regular-season reception since 2022 when he had seven for 45 yards. Sunday’s was for five yards.

Tight ends

  • Trey McBride (70/89), Elijah Higgins (28/35), Pharaoh Brown (11/14), Josiah Deguara (4/5)
  • Reserve/injured: Tip Reiman, Travis Vokolek (both eligible to return, but won’t)

McBride had another double-digit target game with 11 and caught 10 for 115 yards and a touchdown. He also had a holding penalty and an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for 15 yards after a 28-yard reception. Both penalties came in the same second-quarter possession. McBride first appeared to be pointing his right arm for a first down, but the official interpreted it a “nose-wipe” gesture, which is a gang sign that means danger for an opponent. The NFL added that to the list of prohibited violent gestures at the league meeting last March.

Sorry Trey, but a check of the replay did show McBride swiping his hand across his nose before thrusting his arm forward. The action will likely bring a fine when those are announced on Saturday.

Higgins had two receptions on two targets for 11 yards, but on one he headed for the end zone and a 7-yard touchdown when the ball was knocked loose before he reached the end zone and the recovery was made by 49ers defensive end Keion White. Higgins also had a holding penalty in the second quarter.

In addition to the holding penalty, Brown, who was signed to the practice squad on Oct. 15 and was elevated for Sunday’s game, also had a false start. Cardinals radio broadcaster A.Q. Shipley insisted the holding penalty shouldn’t have been called because he kept his arms inside the body of linebacker Nick Martin. However, the clearly replay showed Brown putting his arm around Martin’s body and keeping it there a few seconds.

Offensive linemen

  • LT Paris Johnson Jr. (79/100), LG Evan Brown (79/100), C Hjalte Froholdt (79/100), RT Kelvin Beachum (58/73), RG Will Hernandez (52/66), RT Josh Fryar (31/39), RG Isaiah Adams (28/35), C/G Jon Gaines II (1/1)
  • Inactive: T Demontrey Jacobs, T Jonah Williams (injured)
  • Reserve/injured: C/G Hayden Conner (eligible to return/practicing), T Christian Jones (eligible to return)
  • Reserve/injured: Valentin Senn

Hernandez, who has returned to the injury report the last two weeks with a limited designation for all six practices after returning from a torn ACL, was subbed out for four possessions and 27 snaps by Adams. Beachum, who started in place of the injured Williams, aggravated a groin injury that landed him on the injury report as questionable, and was replaced by Fryar, who had been inactive for the previous five games. Fryar also was on the field 10 times after reporting as eligible as an extra blocker.

Beachum had been playing that role since both tight ends Tip Reiman and Travis Vokolek were lost for the season with injuries. With Beachum starting and not available to play that role, that’s why Brown was elevated from the practice squad.

Johnson and Beachum had two of the team’s five offensive holding penalties and Johnson was guilty of a false start.
