In the Arizona Cardinals' 26-19 loss to the Atlanta Falcons Sunday, 20 players participated in at least one of the 57 offensive snaps.
Quarterback Jacoby Brissett, left guard/center Jon Gaines II, right guard Isaiah Adams and right tackle Kelvin Beachum played every snap. Tight end Trey McBride played all but two, and wide receiver Michael Wilson missed eight.
How was the playing time divided up? Below are individual snap counts for every player who got in the game offensively, grouped by position.
The first number after each name is snaps and the second is the percentage. Players in bold were starters.
Brissett had one of his worst games since taking over the starting job from Murray, completing only 16 of 31 passes for 203 yards with a touchdown and an interception. He was sacked twice, ran for five yards and had a passer rating of 69.7. The interception was a poor throw to the sideline and came on the team’s final possession after driving to the Falcons 42-yard line. The team’s record with him under center is 1-9.
Carter had runs of 21 and 22 yards and had a solid game with 65 yards on 11 carries. Demercado had five runs for 30 yards, while Kiner had a productive stretch with 32 yards on six rushes. None of the running backs had a reception as Carter was targeted twice and Demercado once.
With his 65 yards, Carter is now the team’s 2025 leader with 286 yards, ahead of Demercado (272) and Knight (269). Carter needs 71 yards to pass LaRod Stephens-Howling, who has the lowest season-leading total (356, 2012) in the Cardinals' Arizona history.
Harrison returned after missing two games because of a heel injury, but was on a “pitch” count and played just over half the snaps. He was targeted three times, caught one for 14 yards and wasn’t able to hold onto a pass in the end zone in the third quarter with the Cardinals trailing 19-16. Wilson scored on a 32-yard pass on which he managed to keep the ball from hitting the ground. He caught only one of two other targets for six yards. Weaver, back from a hamstring injury, had two receptions for 19 yards.
Brissett had a rough time getting the ball to McBride, who caught only four of eight targets for 27 yards. His record streak of 16 consecutive games with at least five receptions was snapped and he was also unable to hang onto an end-zone pass, this one in the fourth quarter with the Cardinals trailing 26-16.
Higgins had a big game with seven receptions on eight targets for 91 yards, including 19- and 25-yarders in the second half that resulted in key first downs on third down.
Asked what led to the increased usage of Higgins, head coach Jonathan Gannon said, “How we were deploying people. I thought they had a good plan for Trey. They were obviously doing some things to take him away, so other guys have to step up. And I thought Elijah played his butt off catching the ball, blocking, catching, runs. He converted a couple third downs.
“We’re always going to try to get Trey the ball, obviously. I thought they did a good job on him. He had one bang-bang in the end zone. He normally comes down with that, but they made a good play on that one.”
When Froholdt missed 11 snaps with an elbow injury before returning, Gaines slid from left guard to center and Conner was at left guard. Fryar and Jacobs again shared time at left tackle, while also being employed as an extra blocker on potential run downs.
Johnson missed his second consecutive game, while Brown missed his third game dealing with a family matter.
