Arizona Cardinals injury report: Trey Benson, Marvin Harrison Jr. sit again

The Arizona Cardinals had their second day of their practice week Thursday in preparation for Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams and released their second injury report of Week 14.

For the second consecutive day, linebacker Josh Sweat was given a rest day. It’s very unusual for a player to have two rest days in one practice week.

Wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. did not practice again because of a heel injury. Right tackle Kelvin Beachum, who did not practice Wednesday because of a groin injury, was upgraded to limited.

Defensive lineman L.J. Collier, who has been on injured reserve since the cut to 53 players, had his 21-day practice window opened Wednesday and has been limited both days.

Arizona Cardinals Thursday injury report: Did not participate​

• RB Trey Benson (knee/practicing while on IR)
• WR/RS Greg Dortch (chest)
• *WR Marvin Harrison Jr. (heel)
• CB Max Melton (heel)
• DL Walter Nolen III (knee)
• *OLB Josh Sweat (not injury related/rest)
• S Dadrion Taylor-Demerson (ankle)

Things are not trending well for Benson. His 21-day practice window closes next week and after beginning with four limited practices, he hasn’t been able to practice for four consecutive days dating back to last week.

Limited participation​

• *RT Kelvin Beachum (groin)
• DL L.J. Collier (knee/practicing while on IR)
• RB Emari Demercado (ankle)
• T Christian Jones (knee/practicing while on IR)
• WR Xavier Weaver (hamstring)

Demercado was injured early in the Week 11 game against the 49ers and missed the previous two games. He did not practice in all six practices the last two weeks, so the upgrade to limited both days this week is promising.

Weaver was added to the report because of an injury that likely happened during practice.
