Bold prediction: we’ll hear talk all week about “righting the ship,” “playing our game,” professionalism, pride, blah, blah, blah, etc. Then we’ll go out and get smoked 38-10.
It’s very possible that your prediction may come true. That’s why the next few weeks will tell us a lot about where this franchise is heading. I’ve been watching replays of the Cowboy games this year & it’s become very obvious that we are sorely missing our former OL coach. Dallas has gone from a soft team with zero ability to run the ball into what we looked like the previous 2 years. Our new OL coach started very slowly last year at OSU, but then they became the best running team in the country. Will that happen this year? Tough to think it will when your running with RB3, RB4, and RB5 out there.

Yes indeed PA, we’ll likely learn a lot this coming Sunday. And to be honest, I sure hope my above prediction is dead wrong.

Any chance we have, imo, will depend upon two players, and it won't be their on-the-field performance, but rather what they do in the clubhouse during the week. And, naturally I'm talking about Budda Baker and Calais Campbell. Two of the best leaders in football. Not sure if even they can pull it off, but if anybody.........

Me too. But, football history has shown us over the decades, and it’s especially true of this Cardinal organization that every coaching regime has a window where you have to show continued improvement or players eventually give up & tune you out. I’ve seen it over the decades & it’s eventually happened to even our best coaches. Charley Winner in the 60’s, Coryell in 77, Hanifan in the 80’s, Tobin in the 90’s, Whiz, and even BA ran into it his last year. I think JG’s tenure is slightly different because he was tasked with starting from scratch and taking on a different approach altogether. I like JG, and MOJG has truly done a much better job of building depth than any Cardinal FO of years past. I can safely say that because even with the insane amount of injuries this year, they are still just a few plays from being undefeated. What will happen against Indy? Will the team still fight like hell? Or will it lay down and give up & get smoked in the process? Injuries aren’t fair, but they’re part of the NFL. For heart health reasons, I try to avoid watching Cardinal games live lol & watch the full replay afterwards. Thank God I didn’t watch this past Sunday. And I still haven’t been able to bring myself to watch the replay just yet. Slowly, but surely, this team is legitimately killing me LOL.

Thanks PA. You’re right on re: the nature of the NFL, the short window for coaches to succeed, our history, etc. I’m a bit too young to recall the Winner years (was born in ‘63), but I well remember the other coaches through which this organization has cycled (terrific point that MOJG began behind the 8-ball and the difficulty in that). However, as for the games, these days I tend to laugh off the losses unless we’re seriously in contention to achieve something meaningful (division title, conference title, SB). My heart simply cannot take the poor or average seasons and the accompanying stumbling and bumbling.

the problem is, without JC we dont have a single thread of leadership on the offense.
in a perfect world, kyler would pull the team together..but that just aint who he is.

Sorry, I disagree. The Niners are ONE team. As a whole, which is what I’ve stated, most teams have struggled. Did you watch the Ravens yesterday? The Niners have played phenomenally well, but they’ve been very fortunate in all their wins. Good for them. They also have a HOF HC who is one of, if not the best play caller EVER. And their DC is great also. Petzing’s conservative play calling is beyond concern now! As for the Niners, I would say their schedule is stupid easy, but even saying that, if they don’t get healthy, it’ll eventually catch up to them.
That Ravens loss was inexcusable PA. Injuries aside, you don't get manhandled like that in your own building.

Yep! My son in law is from Baltimore & is a diehard Ravens fan. I actually felt bad for him as we watched that game. They truly rolled over and died. I actually thought they would still be competitive being they were at home. Nope lol. Little did I know that a few hours later the Cardinals would lose in an even more painful way.

Don't know that it matters. We've been in good spots before in terms of the draft and just can't seem to get it right. The issues are (and have been) at multiple levels in this organization. Bidwill is either inept or content with mediocracy at best.

Also not sure if there's a qb prospect worthy of a top 3 pick. If not, we could always trade down for more picks.

I think these guys need more practice time IN PADS during the preseason.
The CBA limits time in pads in training camp; not sure about the preseason. But the 49ers are known for practicing "harder and faster than most NFL teams, including in training camp", and they're perennially one of the most injured teams in the league.

This is what the season has shown me so far, the Cardinals will play to the level of the opponent they are facing. The Cardinals are like a virus that sticks around for three quarters and then the immune system kicks in on the other team

I'm pretty sure Shanahan has gone through 3 different strength coaches in his tenure too, thats the guy fans usually blame.

The only way this team wins back credibility with me is getting to the midway point at 5-3. Beating Indy, GB, and Dallas to go 3-0 over the next 3 games. Only good teams can win 3 in a row. If they can do this, I’d give them about a 40-45% chance of making the playoffs.

There is a higher probability of finding where Jimmy Hoffa is buried than that happening.
