They discussed his current contract on the radio today and he has incentives built in that would pay him another $5 million or more on top of the nearly $6 contract. Poor guy.
How will he be able to feed his family?

I don’t think it would come to this but the Cardinals can save $5.94 million on cutting Brissett before or after June 1.

Trading him would save $7.4 million.
been saying this for a week plus we'd get a (crappy) draft pick

Imagine coming out of the woodwork to support Michael Bidwill and Monti Ossenfort.
No need to come out and support them, right? Jacoby is just another player under contract and is not holding out as you have repeatedly said - so there is nothing to see here. Move along.

Yup. Everyone in this situation is embarrassing. Cards org is a circular firing squad.
Why redo a contract for a guy you only want to start a few games this season before handing the reins over to your newest draft pick? The contract criticism is misplaced.

Brissett is just worried because his biggest incentives are tied to playing in a certain percentage of games. He may not reach those if Beck gets an early chance to start.
That’s probably accurate. He saw what Monti did with the Passtronaut and probably feels like Monti isn’t bargaining in good faith.

The biggest mistake of the offseason by the Arizona Cardinals was leaking it that Jacoby Brissett would be there QB1.
Zero benefit to doing it and Brissett rightfully took advantage.
Struck out on Malik Willis and Jimmy Garoppolo then panicked.
And here we are now.

It was obvious he’d be QB1. It was hilarious when he said he hadn’t heard anything.

You can say that about anyone though. If he's a starting QB, then he shouldn't get backup QB money.

Do we really want to prove how cheap of an organization we are?

Is Brissett much better than Minshew? Realistically how many more games could the team win with Jacoby (especially with this schedule). Somewhere between 0-2 is my guess.

The most likely outcome is Beck is getting significant playing time by early November at the latest regardless of who is starting game 1.

I definitely think Brissett should get a modest bump in salary, but Monti will be an even bigger clown if he overpays.

Brissett can still be the starter and will be. That is and was the route. I believe another quarterback can and will beat him out this year.

No idea why this drama wasn't sorted ages ago. I'm now of the opinion that if we back down to Brissett we look even worse than we already do. I'd withdraw offer to JB and start Minshew, at least Minshew has some experience of leading a poor team and getting some wins, think he'd help channel that 'underdog mentality' better than JB.
