Most of the area's stock car racing tracks took the Fourth of July weekend off but area drivers still got to compete in racing programs held on Friday, July 3, 2026, at Aberdeen and Fergus Falls, MN.
All six regular classes of cars competed at Brown County Speedway in Aberdeen and also at I-94 Speedway in Fergus Falls.
Here's some highlights (for complete results, visit myracepass.com):
Thomas Weisgram of Northville (late models), Kent Arment of Aberdeen (modifieds), Jayden Bogh of Huron (street stocks) and Preston Martin of Lincoln, ND (legends) each won their second features of the season at BCS.
Other feature winners were Brennon Weight of Lamoure, ND (Midwest modifieds) and Stewart Schipke of Aberden (super stocks). Each won their first features.
The field featured 82 cars, including 16 late models, Midwest modifieds and super stocks; 13 legends; 11 modifieds and 10 street stocks.
Heat winners were Arment and Weisgram, late models; Kyle Anderson of Jamestown, ND, and Dawson Zabel of Selby, Midwest modifieds; Dylan Zabel of Selby and Jesse Young of Warner; Chris Serr and Jodie Michaelsohn of Aberdeen, street stocks; Derek Zastrom of Gann Valley and Trevor Nelson of Warner, super stocks; and Martin and Ryan Erdahl of Jamestown, ND, legends.
The Andy Daly Super Stock Memorial Special is scheduled for Friday and Saturday, July 10-11. The starting time is not listed for Friday's program. Saturday's racing will start at 6 p.m.
Watertown driver Trevor Walsh won his second Gen X late models feature of the season during the Fan Appreciation Night and Fireworks Special at the speedway.
Thirty-two Midwest modifieds spearheaded a field of 136 cars that also featured 25 Gen X late models, 23 late models, 22 street stocks, 20 hornets and 14 modifieds.
Cole Searing of Huron won a late model heat race during the program.
Another racing program is scheduled for Friday, July 10 at 7 p.m.

- Casino Speedway (Watertown) — The third annual Soak the Drivers Night is scheduled for 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 12. Late models, Midwest modifieds, modifieds, street stocks and hornets are slated to race. The program will kick off a busy week at the local track, which will also host the 15th Summersota Nationals on Thursday, July 16 at 7 p.m. The United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) will headline the special events, which is slated to include Midwest modifieds and street stocks.

- Dakota State Fair Speedway (Huron) — Racing is off at the track until Saturday, July 18 when the Mackenzie Kopecky Memorial program is held. Racing starts at 7 p.m.
- Fiesta City Speedway (Montevideo, MN) — The Timmy Ims Race for the Cure Midwest Modifieds Special will be held on Friday, July 10 at 7 p.m.
- Madison Speedway (Madison, MN) — The Timmy Ims Race for the Cure Midwest Modifieds Special is slated for Saturday, July 11 at 7 p.m.
