Jul. 26—CHAMBERLAIN, S.D. — With the game tied at 8-all heading into the bottom of the 11th inning, Garrett Stout delivered a walk-off RBI single to power Four Corners to a 9-8 win at the District 3B amateur baseball tournament over Plankinton on Saturday.
The Bankers sent it into extra innings after Devin Mehlhaff hit an RBI single to score Ethan Hoffman in the top of the ninth frame, but it was Four Corners who outlasted Plankinton despite being outhit 15-11 and tallying three errors in the field for the game.
Stout led the way for Four Corners with three hits, while Kris Dozark went 2-for-2 at the plate with a team-high two RBIs after being inserted into the game midway through. Noah Hainy earned the win on the bump in relief, allowing just one hit and zero runs through two innings pitched with six strikeouts.
For the Bankers, Hoffman paced the bats with three hits and an RBI, while Walker Van Gorp, Keagan Hill and Teegan Schlimgen had two hits apiece. Mehlhaff took the loss on the mound in relief for Paxton Nedved after allowing five hits, four runs and three walks through five innings, including the walk-off RBI single in the 11th inning.

Kimball/White Lake 15, Chamberlain 0 (5 inn.): Cooper Leiferman and Keaton Christensen teamed up for a two-hitter on the mound and nine strikeouts in neutralizing host Chamberlain in the district opener. Jaxon Christensen drove in five runs on three hits and Keaton Christensen had three RBIs for the Nationals, while Eli Donovan was charged with the loss on the mound for the Mallards.
Burke 3, Colome 0: Gannon Thomas pitched a complete game shutout without issuing a walk with eight strikeouts and five hits allowed to hold Colome's offense in check on its way to a win. Aaron Sundquist and Blake Hoffmann each had two hits, while Ben Witt and Thomas had one RBI apiece for the Bombers. Jake Luse was issued the pitching loss after allowing six hits and three runs with five strikeouts in 7 1/3 innings of work for Colome.
Winner Demons 8, Wessington Springs 7: Despite trailing by one run heading into the top of the ninth inning, Winner Demons' Gavin Risse and Ashton Klein both delivered RBI singles to take the lead and the victory over the Owls. Kayleb Brozik led the way with three hits for Winner, while Qunicy Phillips earned the pitching win in relief after securing the final three outs. Layne Cotton was tagged with the loss on the bump for Wessington Springs after allowing three runs on four hits in the final two innings, while Brock Krueger led the way at the plate with two hits and two RBIs.
Sunday's schedule at the District 3B tournament in Chamberlain includes the host Chamberlain Mallards facing Colome at noon in an elimination game, while Plankinton will take on Wessington Springs at 2 p.m. in an elimination contest. Canova outlasts Hartford/Humboldt Gamecocks in offensive battle in District 4B
HUMBOLDT, S.D. — Canova outlasted the Hartford/Humboldt Gamecocks 17-10 in an offensive battle that saw 34 total hits between the two teams to power the Canova Gang to a first-round win at the District 4B amateur baseball tournament on Saturday.
Justin Miller led Canova with a 3-for-5 performance at the plate, including a two-run home run in the first inning with three RBIs and four runs scored. Riley Genzlinger had four hits and three runs scored, Garrett Gassman had three hits and two RBIs, and Luke Koepsell added two hits, three RBIs and three runs scored. Derek Miller earned the pitching win despite giving up 11 hits and eight runs with four strikeouts in six innings of work.
For the Gamecocks, Jonah Rechtenbaugh was tagged with the pitching loss in relief, allowing four runs and four hits with two walks issued through two innings. Joe Hanisch paced the bats with three hits and four RBIs, while Kyle Konechne added three hits and two RBIs.
