Former Los Angeles Lakers big man Anthony Davis finds himself in one of the weirdest situations around the NBA.

Davis, who is obviously an All-World talent when he's on the court, is on one of the more below-average teams in the league right now.

Not to say that the Washington Wizards can't be decent in a few years, but to say that they have much of a chance to compete for a championship in the immediate term would be unfair. Washington is certainly trending in the right direction, but Davis is probably better off with a team like the Golden State Warriors, which is why the rumors of Golden State being interested make a lot of sense.

Bleacher Report recently predicted that he would request a trade, which would actually do the Warriors a whole lot of good. If it comes out that Davis doesn't want to be in Washington, that should help the Warriors' chances of landing him, at the very least.

However, the same thing can be said on the opposite side for the Lakers, who won't want Golden State to improve at that level.

“The Wizards have since landed No. 1 pick AJ Dybantsa and locked Trae Young into a(n awfully expensive) long-term contract. Their long-term future feels a lot more cemented now, but does that really matter to Davis, a 33-year-old with a lengthy injury history? If it's obvious early that Washington's intriguing young core still has a lot of growing pains to get through, Davis may not have the patience to wait around for it,” Bleacher Report wrote.

If Davis were to ask for a trade relatively soon and end up in Golden State, I don't think it's crazy to say that we could see LeBron James with them as well.

However, that would be a lot to ask, so for now, it's more interesting to think about Davis potentially just requesting a trade.
