The Los Angeles Angels are likely to be sellers at this year's MLB trade deadline, but as is the case with the Angels seemingly every year, there might not be a lot of names on their way out.

While someone like Mike Trout might draw a ton of attention in the trade market, his trade odds are essentially zero. But when it comes to some other players, it wouldn't be a surprise if they were dealt.

However, for 3.68 ERA starting pitcher Reid Detmers, who's been frequently mentioned in trade rumors recently, ESPN's Kiley McDaniel and Jeff Passan handed out an unexpectedly low chance for the ascendant starter to be traded this summer.

Angels have low odds to trade Reid Detmers despite buzz

"Chance of being traded: 20%," Passan and McDaniel write. Despite the buzz picking up recently, the odds for a deal aren't very high.

As the ESPN duo noted, "Of course, it's the Angels, so executives are skeptical that it will happen..."

Detmers has dramatically increased his trade value recently, as his 3.68 ERA is only this low thanks to a very impressive last five starts, as he's gone 33 innings with a 1.36 ERA and 39 strikeouts during those five starts.

The 26-year-old left-hander might be the best lefty actually on the market this summer, unless the Detroit Tigers collapse and Tarik Skubal is made available.

He's under club control for two more seasons, is thriving, and would be the perfect trade target for a lot of clubs that might not view 2026 as their all-in season.

There's bound to be plenty of teams showing interest in Detmers, and the Angels surely could get something nice in return for Detmers.

But, this ESPN duo gives the odds of a trade at just 20%, an unexpectedly low number considering the buzz surrounding Detmers ahead of the trade deadline. A deal could still happen, but it looks more likely than not that he's not dealt this summer.
