The Los Angeles Angels just can't catch a break to begin the month of July.

The Boston Red Sox won the first two games, including an 8-1 blowout win on Saturday. It was a bit closer on Sunday, but the Red Sox finished the sweep with a 7-5 victory, giving the Angels their sixth straight loss and leaving LA still winless in July.

The Angels jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning as Jorge Soler drove in a run on a fielder's choice, and Jo Adell drove in Denzer Guman to give LA a two-run lead.

That quickly vanished as Jarren Duran smacked a two-run home run in the op of the second inning.

Zach Neto then briefly gave the Angels the lead with an RBI double, but Willson Contreras hit a three-run home run to give Boston a 5-3 lead in the third.

WIlyer Abreu drove in a run and Masataka Yoshida drove in another in the seventh as Boston jumped out to a 7-3 lead.

Adell and Neto each drove in a run in the final two innings, with Neto hitting a solo home run, but it wasn't enough for the Angels.

Ryan Johnson got the start for the Angels, and he went just four innings, giving up two earned runs with six hits to fall to 1-4 with a 6.99 ERA.

Chase Silseth gave up the other two runs, and the bullpen saw heavy work once again in another disappointing loss for the Angels.

Both Adell and Neto had three hits apiece, and the rest of the team combined for just three hits.

Boston scattered 10 hits throughout the game, and to make things worse, starting pitcher Ranger Suarez left the game after just 2.2 innings due to an injury.

Suarez said after the game that it was a groin issue, but the prized free agency acquisition is unsure if he will land on the IL or not.

Ranger Suarez on the pinch he felt in his groin area. He felt it on the pitch, not jumping for the ball off the bat. Made it clear he’s still feeling it after the game.

The Angels haven't won since June 28, and they have scored eight runs in the last four games combined, with more than half of those coming on Sunday.

The Angels have a much-needed day off on Monday as they will travel to begin a series against the Texas Rangers on Tuesday, followed by a three-game stint against the Minnesota Twins before they return to California to take on the Detroit Tigers.
