The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have enjoyed dominating the NFC South for most of the last decade at this point. They won five straight division titles until last year, when the Carolina Panthers upsurped them. However, waiting in the darkness that is the bottom of the division is the New Orleans Saints.

They may have finally found their quarterback in Tyler Shough, and the roster is being constructed properly. As a result, Bleacher Report's Brad Gagnon included the Saints in his power rankings for teams that could go worst to first. He had them ranked second in the list and laid out what they could be in contention.

Gagnon writes, "The wide-open NFC South hasn't had an 11-game winner since 2021. The Saints look like they have their new franchise quarterback in Tyler Shough, and it's hard to fully get behind the defending champion Panthers (8-9 in 2025), the consistently mediocre Falcons (major questions at quarterback) and the fading Buccaneers (went 2-7 down the stretch last season)."

Gagnon also includes it will all come down to Week 18, again, in the division. If it does, the divisional matchup that weekend would be against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on January 10.
