While there is plenty for both of the Boston Celtics picks from the 2026 NBA Draft to work on this summer, what we have seen so far from the Boston Celtics' No. 26 pick of the 2026 NBA Draft, big man Chris Cenac Jr., and their No. 40 overall pick, forward Dillon Mitchell, has been impressive. And it has not been missed by Sin City Celtics head coach Amile Jefferson, who had plenty to say about how both have been settling into pro life with Boston – even if it has started out in Nevada.
"Chris is really impressive, especially with his size," said the Celtics assistant of Cenac. "He has super big hands. He's really mobile, he can move. It's been really good."
"Just in this last week, see the growth, see how the coaching has impacted him, getting him to play really hard, screening, making points ... and then just being a connector for our team," said Jefferson.
"And then Dylan— you know— he probably has the best voice in the gym and he's probably our best defender, just a natural athlete who's really cerebral and knows how to play the game," suggested Jefferson.
"So we're going to lean on him just like (Boston second-year wing) Hugo (Gonzalez). Just to be himself, bring high energy to the gym, and then be a defensive playmaker to make plays for us."
