Report: Amile Jefferson to coach Boston Celtics in Las Vegas Summer League

The 2026 NBA Draft now fully in the rear-view mirror and the 2026 NBA offseason in full swing with the Boston Celtics in the thick of it, attention begins to turn toward the players the Celtics drafted or signed after the big event at Barclays Center -- at least inasmuch as one can do so with the prospect of star Boston forward Jaylen Brown being traded.

But the lure and the lessons of the NBA's 2026 Las Vegas Summer League beckons as it does each summer, with the potential makeup of the SIn City Celtics roster and coaching staff starting to come into focus. As far as the latter aspect of the summer Celtics, we have learned from Boston Globe reporter Adam Himmelsbach who will be helming the team on the sidelines.

Per the Globe reporter, former Duke standout and Jayson Tatum teammate "Amile Jefferson will be head coach of the Celtics’ summer league team."

Himmelsbach also speculates that having the former Blue Devil in Vegas coaching Boston's summer league squad might lead to some Tatum sightings in the great state of Nevada.
