March 27 (UPI) -- No. 6 Amanda Anisimova, a two-time Grand Slam finalist, split with coach Rick Vleeshouwers, the American tennis star announced Friday on Instagram.
Anisimova lost to No. 12 Belinda Bencic of Switzerland in the Round of 16 of the Miami Open on Monday in Miami Gardens, Fla. She made her first Grand Slam final in July at Wimbledon 2025.
Anisimova also went to the 2025 U.S. Open finale in September, when she lost to top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus.
She advanced to her first Australian Open quarterfinal in January, when she lost to fellow American Jessica Pegula.
"It's been quite the ride and journey together," Anisimova wrote on Instagram. "Last year holds so many special moments and achievements together that I will never forget! We picked up some trophies and incredible milestones, but all the laughs and behind the scenes moments I'll carry with me even more.

"Thank you Rick. Thank you for everything you've done for me. For seeing and treating me as a human first, before an athlete. That meant the world to me, and made for a great partnership.
"Your dedication, loyalty, and passion is undeniable! I wish you nothing but happiness and success in whatever comes next for you in this chapter."

Vleeshouwers also addressed the split with an Instagram post.
"All good things come to an end, and today marks the closing of an incredible chapter," Vleeshouwers wrote. "Over the past two years, we've reached so many milestones, winning two 1000s, making back-to-back Grand Slam finals, and reaching world No. 3.
"I'm incredibly proud of what we built, but even more for the journey we shared along the way, the hard work, new experiences, the challenges, the laughs and the moments that people don't always see.
"I will always carry these memories with me. I'm deeply grateful to everyone who has been part of this. Your support and dedication have meant so much along the way."
Vleeshouwers said it was a "privilege" to be part of Anisimova's journey and wished her "nothing but success and happiness moving forward."
Anisimova is expected to play in the 2026 Charleston Open, which will be held from Saturday through April 5 in Charleston, S.C.
