On Tuesday at the Milan Cortina Games, the United States won its first-ever Olympic medal in mixed-doubles curling. (Yes, I know, mixed-doubles curling has only been an Olympic event for eight years. But in “curling years,” a thing I just made up, that’s basically a century.) In the gold-medal match, Americans Cory Thiesse and Korey Dropkin lost out to Swedish sibling duo Rasmus and Isabella Wranå after misplaying a couple of crucial shots in the final end. No shame in silver, though! It’s still Team USA’s first Olympic curling medal since Team Shuster took gold in 2018.
Perhaps more impressively, Thiesse and Dropkin are now arguably America’s most prominent team of C(K)or(e)ys since Coreys Haim and Feldman took Hollywood by storm in the 1980s. But which Corey/Cory/Korey duo is the best Corey/Cory/Korey duo? Let’s find out.
Thiesse and Dropkin: Won a silver medal in mixed-doubles curling at the 2026 Milan Cortina Games, marking only the third time that the U.S. has brought home a medal of any sort in Olympic curling.
Haim and Feldman: Tied each other for the honor of Best Young Actor in a Motion Picture Comedy or Fantasy at the 1989 Young Artist Awards for their respective performances in 1988’s License to Drive, marking only the fourth time up to that point that there had been a tie at the Young Artist Awards.
The call: While their joint victory was surely a thrill for Haim and Feldman—and while Roger Ebert did call the first half of License to Drive “very funny”—the Young Artist Awards are a relatively low-wattage event. “I don’t think most legitimate casting directors even know that the Young Artist Awards exists,” a casting director told the Los Angeles Times in 2016. Every casting director in Hollywood has heard of the Olympics. Just ask Johnny Weissmuller. (Sure, he died in 1984, but there’s still no harm in asking.) Advantage: Thiesse and Dropkin.
Thiesse and Dropkin: Boast seven United States Junior Curling Championship medals between them, a joint World Mixed Doubles Championship victory in 2023, and, of course, a silver medal at the Milan Cortina Games.
Haim and Feldman: Co-starred in nine separate films, as well as the A&E reality show The Two Coreys.
The call: While Haim and Feldman would seem to have the edge here, their reality show was short-lived and many of their films were direct-to-video flops. Among them: Busted, which currently boasts an IMDb rating of 2.7 stars out of 10. Advantage: Thiesse and Dropkin.
Thiesse and Dropkin: Are highly recognizable in the world of curling and in the Duluth, Minnesota, greater metropolitan area.
Haim and Feldman: Were highly recognizable in the world of 1980s teenage girls, many of whom gladly paid $2 for the first minute and $0.45 for each additional minute for the thrill of calling the Corey & Corey Hotline at 1-900-909-3700.
The call: While you can reach Korey Dropkin via his RE/MAX Realtor web page, today’s teenage girls would have no reason to contact him, unless they are planning to relocate to Duluth, in which case he would be happy to “minimize the stress that comes with buying and selling real estate.” Advantage: Haim and Feldman.
Thiesse and Dropkin: Have been compared to “fire and ice” due to their contrasting personalities during competition. “Cory’s got that calm, confident, stoic personality on the ice and I kind of bring that fiery, passionate energy. And the two mix really well together,” said Dropkin earlier this month.
Haim and Feldman: Were inseparable during the 1980s and claimed to be best friends. “I’ve worked with a lot of great people through the years. And with Corey [Haim], you know, you set us in front of a camera and tell us to go and it just happens. And there’s really no explaining that, you know?” said Feldman in 2007.
The call: Basic science tells us that when fire meets ice, the ice melts, which is sort of what happened to Thiesse and Dropkin during the eighth end of their gold-medal match on Tuesday. Advantage: Haim and Feldman
Thiesse and Dropkin: Are scheduled to compete together in 2026 as members of the Frontier Curling Club in the brand-new “Rock League,” which is being billed as “the world’s first professional curling league.”
Haim and Feldman: In 1992, Feldman appeared on Howard Stern’s television show to perform a song titled “What’s Up With the Youth?” (Chorus: “What’s up with the youth? / What’s up with the youth?”) In 2001, Haim tried to sell his own hair and one of his teeth on eBay.
The call: We know that Feldman and Haim’s side projects ended poorly. But it’s fair to presume that the “Rock League” will also end poorly. Advantage: Let’s call it a tie.
Thiesse and Dropkin: Both Cory and Korey seem to be well-adjustedadults with loving families and stable careers outside of curling: Korey Dropkin sells real estate and Cory Thiesse is a lab technician.
Haim and Feldman: Haim struggled with drug addiction before dying of pneumonia in 2010. Feldman has lived an extremely rough life—the personal life section of his Wikipedia page is an extremely harrowing read.
The call: Parents, get your kids into curling. Advantage: Thiesse and Dropkin.
