Saturday night’s Skyscraper Live on Netflix turned to be one of the most iconic personal feats in sports history when Alex Honnold attempted to climb a 101-story building.
The viral solo climber successfully took down Taipei 101 in Honnold’s first-ever race to the top of one of the largest buildings in the world. Honnold clocked in at over 1 hour and 40 minutes after navigating the amazing architecture in Taipei.

However, the most iconic moment from the experience came once Alex Honnold finished the incredible achievement. Netflix panned to an aerial shot of Honnold as he held his phone and took a selfie at the summit.
Honnold’s feat is incredible for a variety of reasons, however, his climb marked a moment that very few have ever accomplished on live television.
Netflix and Taipei 101 allowed the social media star to free climb the 11th-tallest building in the world. However, Honnold’s daring act was made even more amazing with his commentary throughout the climb.
The 40 year old managed to show off on several occasions, even using no hands at certain moments where fans watching were on the edge of their seats.
The commentary team of Elle Duncan and WWE star Seth Rollins remained engaged throughout the day as Honnold ascended up the 1,600-foot structure. But fans having the chance to hear from Honnold’s wife and friends made the experience even better.
