Alex Honnold has become an instant favorite on Netflix after his epic Skyscraper Live event went viral Saturday night in Taiwan.
The American climbing expert completed a mind-blowing climb to the top of Taipei 101, one of the tallest buildings in the world without any help from harnesses or safety restraints.

However, fans are now stunned by the 40 year old’s earnings from his Skyscraper Live climb. Particularly, Honnold’s payout in comparison to social media star and boxer Jake Paul after his recent fight with Anthony Joshua.
Honnold completed his epic feat in over one hour and 40 minutes as fans looked on in-person and worldwide on Netflix. However, his death-defying climb reportedly only made him roughly $500,000.
Meanwhile, Jake Paul’s massive fight with Joshua yielded a stunning $90 million in comparison, but the celebrity boxer owns his Most Valuable Promotions label and earns cuts of many other Netflix bouts.
Alex Honnold does boast several high-profile endorsements from his adventures though, including The North Face. He’s also become a widely-acclaimed public speaker and makes money through appearances.
It remains to be seen when or if Honnold will complete his next incredible climb. Based on first impressions though and his huge social media following, Netflix likely has a star on its hands.
