I finally watched this. I'm not really a fan of animated movies, but this was decent thanks to the genie. Robin Williams was flippin hilarious.

Because Robin Williams ad-libbed so many of his lines, the script was turned down for a Best Adapted Screenplay Academy Award nomination.

Ha, this doesn't surprise me.

Aladdin was brilliant. Disney reinvented the animation genre in the early 90's and the reboot was incredible. The animation went from blah to multi dimensional gorgeousness, and the stories modernized to be very enjoyable to people of all ages. An adult could go see Aladdin or The Lion King or more recently, Tangled or Frozen and be very entertained.

Plus, Jasmine was so hot.

Great, great movie with some of the best Disney music. Ah, Robin Williams.

I was amazed at how well the live action movie was done, including will smiths rendition of the genie.

LOVE the animated version. I liked the live action one too. Will Smith wasn't the genie so much as he was Will Smith doing the genie, but to be fair that's what Robin Williams did. It worked. I have a bit of a crush on Naomi Scott, which didn't hurt.
