Alabama football adds 2028 4-star Delaware edge commitment

Alabama football has added another defensive piece to its 2028 recruiting class.

Tysir Young, a four-star edge out of Middletown, Delaware, announced his commitment to the Crimson Tide. Young is Alabama's seventh commit of the 2028 recruiting class.

Young, a 6-foot-2, 220-pound edge rusher out of Middletown High School, committed with offers from programs such as Auburn, Florida, Ohio State. Georgia and Oregon. He is the No. 105 player and the No. 13 edge in the 2028 class per 247Sports' composite rankings.

Young is Alabama's third 2028 July commit joining four-star quarterback Kingston Preyear and four-star offensive lineman Anthony Blalock Jr.

Alabama also has commitments from four-star cornerback Braylen Gibbs and three-star linebacker Dustin Henry.

With Young, Alabama has the No. 1 2028 class in the country.
