OMAHA, Neb. − The Alabama baseball team looks to stave off early elimination from the College World Series on Monday, June 14, against Texas. The Crimson Tide dropped its first CWS game, a 9-0 loss to Oklahoma, in the double-elimination tourney.
"We'll come back Monday and throw our best punch," said UA coach Rob Vaughn.
The Crimson Tide (42-20) will look to rebound against a Texas team that took two of three games from the Crimson Tide in a regular season series in Austin. The Alabama-Texas winner will move on to face either Oklahoma or Georgia.
The Longhorns lost to Georgia on Saturday, putting Texas on the brink of CWS elimination as well.
