The Akron RubberDucks are moving up the start time of Saturday's game with a round of showers and thunderstorms expected at night.

The start has been changed to a 4:05 p.m. (previously 6:05 p.m.). Gates will now open at 3 p.m., the team announced late April 3.

All postgame activities, including an Easter egg hunt and fireworks, are still on as scheduled.

Temperature swing and more rain late Saturday​


During the day of April 4, it's expected to be partly sunny in Akron, with a high near 79, the National Weather Service in Cleveland says. There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 5 p.m.

Expect a southwest wind of 7 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph.

A strong cold front will sweep through late in the day, the weather service says. The chance of rain is 100%, and the low will drop to 43.
