Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports has reported that the Green Bay Packers will be hiring former Arizona Cardinals' defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon to the same position.
The Cardinals fired Gannon after going 15-36 in three seasons with the team.
Gannon isn't new to the defensive coordinator role; he spent a brief two-year period as the Philadelphia Eagles' DC before accepting the head coaching job with Arizona. His defense ranked eighth in the NFL in points allowed during the Super Bowl year of 2024, and first in total passing yards allowed.
The Green Bay Packers were a little better than middle of the pack in points and passing yards allowed, but were towards the bottom in sacks and turnovers during the 2025 season.
The deal looks to be made official within the next couple of days.
