The eyes of the entire sports world were locked in on the NBA and the Philadelphia 76ers on Friday as it became official: LeBron James is heading to the Sixers. While the news was catching fire across the sports spectrum, former Penn State defensive standout and Philadelphia native Abdul Carter was among the many sharing excitement for the major NBA free agency news.
Carter previously shared his prediction of LeBron to the Sixers on social media. On Friday, Carter got a chance to remind everyone he called his shot.
"Don't say I didn't tell yall," Carter posted on his X, formerly Twitter, account on Friday.
Carter posted his LeBron James forecast after the Sixers had acquired Jalen Brown in a trade with the Boston Celtics. Now that the prediction has come true, will Carter find some time this upcoming season to get backj home and catch a Sixers game in Philadelphia? Sixers games will be as much of an event as they have ever been now with LeBron James in Philly for the next two seasons.
Carter is entering his second season in the NFL with the New York Giants. Carter is coming off a solid rookie season after being named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team. Carter was a unanimous All-American in his final season at Penn State in 2024, and was the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year in 2024.
