LeBron James is officially a member of the Philadelphia 76ers after the future Hall of Famer agreed to a 2-year $8 million deal to sign with the Sixers after eight seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers. He will now join Joel Embiid, Jaylen Brown, Tyrese Maxey, and VJ Edgecombe to form one of the better starting lineups in league history.
Obviously, James is more than just a basketball player. He's a philanthropist, a megastar in every sense of the word, and will be bringing all of that to Philadelphia as he looks to help the Sixers move forward.
Oh, and by the way, even at 41 and entering year 24, is still pretty damn good at basketball. He has been embraced already by the city of Philadelphia and Pennsylvania state governor Josh Shapiro took to Twitter to make a special announcement about July 24.
James and the Sixers will have a lot of work to do in order to build chemistry and really find a way to make it all work, but there is too much talent on this roster for it not to work. These guys have a high basketball IQ and understand that sacrifices will have to be made. It will be fun in the City of Brotherly Love.
