This morning I fast forwarded thru FoxSportsAZ's Arizona Report from last night trolling for Cardinal news. Yup, they covered minicamp. All they reported was that Emmitt accepts his backup role and relishes the competition for roster spots.
Nothing about the tempo and intensity of practice. Nothing about the emphasis on learning proper techniques.
It was as if they weren't even there - except to direct their camera crew to stick a microphone in Emmitt's face.
Sorry, folks. That's not journalism.
On the other hand, to AZR's credit (rare on most days), they ran some decent stuff this morning - Bickley wrote a pretty on-topic column and there was a good article on Denny calling out players he feels should perform at higher levels. But, even then, AZR didn't really capture the flavor of what was really going down at "the facility. You guys did.
Skkorp - You're absolutely right to go a bit slow under Denny's edict, but I hope you, Ian and Jo will eventually feel comfortable enough with Denny to establish a few ground rules so that you don't have to ask permission every time you want to wipe your nose.
I think the key thing you, Ian and Jo might want to gently push for is differentiation from Denny between what he accepts as (a) legitimate public knowledge - news that everyone attending practices is privy to (like photos and "what you guys saw out there") vs. (b) what Denny might consider to be potential time-bomb material - i.e. a player's or coach's comments that might be misstated, misinterpreted, taken out of context or taken as official team policy - either mistakenly or before it was ready to be released
