A.J. Brown is now a wide receiver for the New England Patriots thanks to the blockbuster trade that sent the unhappy star from the Philadelphia Eagles up north to be coached by Mike Vrabel once again.
But do you believe that the receiver who grew up in Mississippi was a Patriots fan? And that he had a rug in his current home with the Pats logo that read "MAN CAVE" ... for years?
That's the claim he made in an extensive interview with Maria Taylor that went up Tuesday morning.
"It came from Amazon," he remarked. "But definitely a few years ago, it's been here for a while."
Taylor pressed further: "While you were an Eagle, you had this rug? In your house?"
"This is my team since I was a kid," Brown replied. "This is it."
There's a lot of chatter about this. People looked hard at the photo he posted and noticed some parts of the image that looked like they weren't real. He was also wearing a Nike jersey in that photo, which didn't make sense if Nike started making NFL jerseys in 2012.
So is he really telling the truth? We don't have a ton to go off of here, but fans are seeing right through this. It won't matter if he brings the Patriots back to the Super Bowl so he can fulfill his, er, life-long dream to play for the Pats.

AJ Brown tells @MariaTaylor he has had a #Patriots rug in his house for a few years — even while he was with the Eagles.
"This is my team. This is my team since I was a kid. I was doing what I was supposed to be doing with the Eagles, but this is it."

Fans don't believe A.J. Brown was telling the truth about the Patriots rug

Seems like a bunch of PR but if AJ had a Patriots rug this whole time, that's weird.

Did A.J. Brown use AI to doctor photos of himself as a kid in a Patriots jersey?

TENDING: AJ Brown posted AI images of himself wearing a Patriots jersey as a kid after getting traded to the Patriots yesterday.
